Work Out Your Salvation: The Process of Sanctification Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Philippians 2:12-13 What is the process of spiritual growth—sanctification? Paul speaks to this congregation and challenges them to work out their salvation with fear and trembling. Now it must be noticed that Paul does not say to “work for” your salvation but to “work out” your salvation. Scripture everywhere teaches that we are saved not by our works but by grace through faith in Christ.

Dear Basketball, I’m writing you this letter because I wanted you to hear it from me first. We had a good run. When I was a new middle school student with no friends in 7th grade, you befriended me.
